Sweetheart Tarts - petplan recipe 

 

ingredients

for the dough:

1 cup garbanzo flour

1/2 cup brown rice flour

1 egg 

1/8 cup canola oil

1/8 cup applesauce

1/4 cup water

 

for the filling:

1/4 cup peanut or almond butter

1 tsp. vanilla

1 egg

24 whole strawberries (fresh or frozen)

 

directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix dry ingredients together and stir until blended. Divide into 24 balls and press them into a lightly greased mini muffin pan. Next, blend the peanut butter, vanilla and egg and fill each of the crusts. Place a strawberry on top of the filling. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

1/8 cup parsley, chopped

1/4 cup broccli, chopped

1/4 cup kale, chopped

1 kiwi, peeled and chopped

1/2 sweet potato, cooked and chopped

 

directions:

Mix all ingredients and add 1/8 to 1/2 cup to your dog's regular meal.

ingredients

1 can sardines packed in water

1/2 cup of oatmeal

2 tsp. spirulina powder

 

directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using a food processor, grind oatmean into a flower consistency and set aside. In a small bowl, mash sardines with water. Add the oatmeal and spirulina and mix well. Roll into small balls and flatten. Bake for 15 minutes then turn off the oven and let sit for 10 minutes. Store in an airtight container or freeze.

1 egg (preferably omega-3 enriched)

1 tbsp. natural peanut butter, melted

 

directions:

Coat pan with non-stick spray and heat over low to medium heat. Crack egg into pan and turn heat to low.

Cook until egg white is set but still runny. Place egg in a bowl and drizzle with melted peanut butter.

Cool slightly then puncture the middle of the egg to release the yolk.

1 cup watermelon, cubed

1 cup ice cubes

 

directions:

Blend watermelon and ice cubes until smooth. Pour mixture into a 

safe, freezable dog toy such as a KONG or a Zogoflex or let your cat lap the liquid. Freeze for a fun summer treat!
